Gallaudet University is starting a PhD program in educational neuroscience this fall--the first school in the DC area to offer such a program. Educational Neuroscience focuses on understanding what in the brain makes it possible for us to learn, with a special focus on the development of young children in early schooling. Gallaudet President T. Alan Hurwitz says, "This program situates Gallaudet on the world's stage in the areas of visual learning, literacy, and cognitive development."
