A deaf center is celebrating its 20 year anniversary with the grand opening of a new facility. The
Southwest Washington Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Vancouver, Washington was given nearly half a million dollars by philanthropist Jack Artz who died in 2008. The facility built with the donation is now open and offers communication access, training, case management, advocacy, peer counseling, and a place for social events. Another donation he made created the Artz Communication Center for the deaf in Seattle.
