One win away from the Super Bowl

The video about Derrick Coleman's journey from a deaf childhood to a NFL running back has more than 5 million views in less than a week. We shared the video with you on Sunday (you can see it here). His team is now just a single win away from getting to the Super Bowl--which would be another first for a deaf player. Here's a video report from CBS News about Coleman.

No closed captioning on a video about a deaf football player on a website about and for the deaf. Funny, that.

Also, I'm really tired of deaf people being called "Silent," as referenced in the video.

I wish there had been some kind of sign language in the video. Positive press shining a light on deafness is great. But how inspirational is this to deaf kids when they can't see what is being said. If he wants to inspire deaf kids to be anything they want, there should be a second video in sign language.
