Schools Won't Merge

A state budget committee has voted against closing or merging the Kansas School for the Deaf and School for the Blind. Members say it would cost more to put the schools together than it would just leaving them as they are now. The Kansas School for the Deaf has a budget of nearly $10 million. It serves 135 students.
