The FDA has given its approval to Advanced Bionics for the cochlear implants company to once again sell the implant that it voluntarily recalled last year. Two patients suffered from severe pain and overly loud sounds for about eight to 10 days after the activation of the HiRes 90K. The news triggered a sharp drop in the stock share price of Sonova Holding, the Switzerland-based company that owns Advanced Bionics. But sell of the device will begin again after federal regulators approved the changes.
