Former Houston Rockets center Yao Ming is partially deaf. The NBA star says he hasn't been able to hear out of his left ear since he was eight years old. He was taken to the hospital after days of a fever where they discovered he had a kidney problem. He was allergic to medicine he had been given. Ming is retiring after playing basketball in his native China and an eight-year NBA career.
