Gallaudet cross-country runner Ivan Alfaro doesn't let Ushers Syndrome slow him down. He put his name in the record books this past spring by setting a school record in the 3,000-meter run--while earning a 4.0 in the classroom. The North Eastern Athletic Conference honored him with its Inspirational Award winners for the 2012-13 academic year--one of only two winners. The NCAA has taken note of Alfaro and profiles him
