Michigan-based Silent Call is offering the deaf a new way to stay alert to emergencies. The Sidekick II Signature Series creates a different vibrating signals or a light whenever it detects a sound or motion in telephones, pagers, fire alarms, etc. The Sidekick can go under a mattress to make it vibrate the bed when an alarm goes off. It runs $239.Next, the company plans to introduce a $225 Silent Touch Wristwatch. It will produce a different vibration for different devices such as a doorbell or smoke detector.
