One of the kids in this year's Scripps National Spelling Bee. going on now in Washington, DC is deaf. Neil Maes is from Belton, South Carolina. Just for him the bee's pronouncer will speak into a microphone that transmits an FM signal directly into his cochlear implants. Neil was born deaf, just like one of his sisters. He got his first implant before he turned the age of one. Read more about Neil
