It many be an ADA violation for US employers to require a high school diploma. The statement popped up in an EEOC “informal discussion letter." It says such a requirement must be “job-related for the position in question and consistent with business necessity.” In other words, the employer would have to show why possessing a high school diploma would be necessary to perform the job.
