A New Hearing Aid

The FDA has cleared a nonsurgical prosthetic that uses a person's teeth to amplify sound. The SoundBite Hearing Aid system helps people with conductive hearing loss. A custom-made hearing device is created for the patient without the need to make any changes to a person's teeth. The hearing device fits on the upper left or right back teeth and a microphone is worn behind the ear. The new system will be available through audiologist and physicians sometime this fall.
